Last winter, the 85 Youth Orchestra students in the GBYO took the stage to end its annual December concert with Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” Joining them were the 80 members of the Concert Orchestra, now flourishing in its second year as a full symphony with winds, brass, percussion, and strings. Joining them were the members of the Sinfonia and Sinfonietta, whose enrollments have nearly doubled since last year. And finally, over 120 students from our Bridges program marched on to bring the on-stage tally to well over 300. Hallelujah indeed! More than just a moving performance, that moment captured the kind of impact the GBYO programs have had on the lives of thousands of talented Maryland youth for 34 years. From a first experience in orchestra to a graduating senior’s final curtain call, the GBYO has created a legacy of life-changing musical experiences for a diverse group of students and riveting performances for their growing audience. We hope you’ll join us in helping to fulfill the mission of the GBYO by supporting our Annual Fund with a tax-deductible contribution. Individual contributions are central to GBYO’s work, and in a year when local governments and corporations foundations can’t support non-profits as they have in the past, the generosity of individuals just like you is more important than ever. Every gift, regardless of size, matters and is vital to our success. We hope you’ll consider the GBYO in your charitable giving plans this year. You will find the Annual Fund Donation Form – Individuals at the bottom of this page, or simply donate online via a secure Paypal donation.
